States and local governments have been cutting vital public services for years because of shrinking revenue and bad policy decisions. The report, Tax Fairness: An Answer to State Budget Problems, describes a financial crisis that could have been avoided – and can be fixed – by making our tax codes fair.

Council 5 wraps up a month of volunteer action with a celebration, march, and community service project in St. Paul on Saturday April 25. The “Keep the Dream Alive” activities publicly demonstrate how we, as AFSCME members, improve lives not only on the job, but also on our own time, in our own communities.
